9.2.2.8 Main battery switch
9.2.2.8.1 A switch intended to open electrical circuits shall be
located as close as possible to the battery. If used
single-pole switch, then it must be installed on the power wire, and not
on the ground wire.
9.2.2.8.2 The device controlling the switch shall be located in the cab
driver. It must be easily accessible to the driver and clearly
marking. It must be protected from accidental impact. Such protection
secured by a shroud, the need for double-clicking, or other
means. Additional control devices can be installed with
provided that they are clearly marked and protected from accidental exposure.
If the control device(s) is(are) electrically driven, then the circuits
control device(s) must comply with the requirements
subsection 9.2.2.9.
9.2.2.8.3 The switch must open the circuit within 10 seconds of activation
control device.
9.2.2.8.4 The switch shall have an enclosure with protection degree IP 65 in
according to IEC 60529.
9.2.2.8.5 The contacts for connecting cables to the circuit breaker shall have protection degree
IP 54 according to IEC 60529. However, this is not required if
the specified contacts are in a casing, which can serve as a box
battery. In this case, it is enough to isolate the contacts in order to
protection against short circuits, for example with a rubber cap.
